Definitions

Quadrilateral–four sided convex polygon

Parallelogram–a quadrilateral with both pairs of opposite sides parallel.

Rectangle–a quadrilateral with four right angles.  Every rectangle is a parallelogram.

Rhombus–a quadrilateral with four congruent sides.  Every rhombus s a parallelogram.

Square–a quadrilateral with four right angles and four congruent sides.  Therefore, every square is a rectangle, a rhombus, and a parallelogram

Trapezoid–A quadrilateral with exactly one pair of opposite sides

Bases–the parallel sides of a trapezoid

Legs–the non-parallel sides of a trapezoid

Median of a Trapezoid–segment that joins the midpoints of the legs
